About Esme

Location: Dayton, OH Food: Bark Kibble of the Sea Medication: Monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention From shut down to shining - Esme has blossomed into the sweetest, quirkiest little girl, and she's ready to find her forever home. Esme came to rescue just 10 days ago absolutely terrified - she didn't know what it meant to be safe, let alone how to be a dog. But with time, patience, and the company of other pups, she's opened up into the most endearing companion. She's discovered that humans are kind, head rubs are wonderful, and playing with toys and other dogs is amazing. At her first adoption event last weekend, Esme went right up to all the visitors asking for pets. Esme thrives with other dogs - she plays with them joyfully, follows their lead, and finds confidence in their presence. She walks well on a leash as long as there's another dog to guide her. Now that she's come out of her shell, this quirky girl is always making us laugh. As you can see in her pics, she will pick up a toy, toss it in the air, and play all by herself. She also loves to bury a treat in her bedding, only to immediately unearth it and eat it like it's the greatest treasure she's ever found. ��ե She's crate trained, quiet in her crate, and never potties in there. We're still working on potty training outside vs inside the house, but she's a quick learner and so eager to please. Esme is looking for a loving home with at least one confident dog and patient humans who will let her continue to blossom. Because she's still learning the ropes of dog life, she'll need a canine buddy in her new home to continue growing. She's already come so far - now she just needs someone to believe in her next chapter and help make it a good one. Everything in the world is exciting to her right now, soak up the joy in watching her discover it all and blossom. ***ADOPTION PROCESS*** -All current pets in the home need to be spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines and on Veterinarian prescribed flea/tick/heart worm prevention. -Everyone living in the home, including all resident dogs, must be present at the meet and greet located in the Southwest Ohio area. -We DO NOT ship dogs!!
