About Onyx

Onyx is a sweet, smart, high energy, 11 month old Golden Retriever ( 19%) poodle (29%) Chesapeake Bay Retriever (52%) Doodle. I got him at 8 weeks old because my best ever dog was a Chessie, that I had for 13 years. I loved the combination Onyx is. He is a salt and pepper short curly Sable and Grey color. He is trained to do his business in a kiddie pool with pine pellet litter. He is currently on a combination raw and quality kibble diet. He has had all the vaccines available from Petco's Vetco Clinic, as of Feb. 16, 2025; he is ready for his new home. He is intact. Since he is big and clumsy, over 60 pounds, I do not advise small children, I have a 3 and 5 year old living with me, so he has to stay outside now. He is not aggressive toward them, he is just too rambunctious with smaller people. I have not been able to give him a bath in the tub any more. He doesn't settle in the car so I can't take him to the groomer. However, I'm 79 years old, it is obvious to me now that he is too much dog for me and I'm going to hurt myself. I am hoping to find him a good home with someone who understands the breed, and the training he needs. He is a good boy who just needs an owner who matches his energy.
