On June 21, Atzi, an intact female 6-month-old seal point Siamese kitten, will be euthanized at West Valley Animal Shelter. The owner surrendered her for aggression on 6/4/2025 and she was immediately placed on the red list. She had a single bite that broke skin. She is scheduled for euthanasia on 6/21/2025. She has no page on the website, and thus the public has no idea she exists. She's still young, and biting and aggression is often environmental, so getting her out of the shelter might see a true change in her demeanor. Spaying may also help. An experienced rescuer could save her life. Many cats are known to bite when under extreme stress, or even in play, and can be trained out of it. What can be a desperate communication measure or an innocent moment of roughhousing can be easily mistaken for aggression and vice-versa. AT 6-MONTHS OLD Atzi is still in the process of socialization and learning her limits. Bite inhibition can still be taught. Her last chance for rescue is the 20th. Atzi does not have a public page for adopters or rescuers to view, and she is a Y1 risk of euthanasia! The lack of a page online impedes her chances that someone with experience can locate her! It is a shame when salvageable kittens have to be euthanized because of an overwhelmed or frightened owner. It is a shame when salvageable kittens, even older ones, are euthanized because of an overwhelmed or frightened owner, and worse when there is no visible effort made to share her story! Do you know of anyone who might be able to HELP ATZI escape becoming another statistic? The animal control officer at West Valley 6/16/25 confirms she is still on the euthanaisa list. PLEASE consider taking her on. It looks like the owners were looking for an excuse to dispose of her. atzi.PNG FEMALE, SEAL POINT SIAMESE.
