He's absolutely stunning, a real head turner! But COOKIE is a shy guy, barely a year old an only just out of puppyhood and has found himself at the shelter, a place that is overwhelming to him. We don't blame him. It's loud, it's chaotic, and it's not a place that a puppy who is used to a family home can adjust to easily. But he has tried very hard to be brave and he is usually found laying down in his kennel, is easily leashed, and slowly walks up the stairs and onto the sidewalk. He loves to explore his surroundings and takes his time to do that, enjoying every smell. When his staff friends crouch down next to him, he wags his tail and leans his head into their petting with a soft body as if all the cares of his small world are lifted from his beautiful shoulders. Cookies is a wonderful boy, he just needs a calm, quiet, home with an experienced family who will let him warm at his own pace to a new life with them. Don't let this sweet puppy die. He has so much to live for and so much affection to share with a wonderful family. While off-leash at the Care Center, Cookie is introduced to a greeter male dog. He approaches the gate while displaying displacement scent-marking. Both dogs engage in mutual scenting through the gate. Cookie initially wags his tail, which shifts to a flagging motion as the interaction continues. He remains present at the gate, showing signs of conflict through lip licking. The greeter male eventually loses interest and walks away, while Cookie stays at the gate. The dogs are then separated, concluding the interaction. COOKIE, ID# 228329, @1 Yr.
