SUGAR is a beautiful little 2.5-year-old Chihuahua, weighing just 8.7 pounds, who came to us as part of a large group of dogs after her owner could no longer care for them. She is a happy, affectionate little girl with a big personality! SUGAR absolutely adores attention and isn't shy about showing it. She is the kind of dog who will leap across the couch just to get close to you, and she has no problem stretching herself out across your chest or curling up in your lap like she belongs there, because in her mind, she absolutely does. At night, she's a loyal snuggler, settling in by your head, sometimes sprawled out, but always with her own little head tucked lovingly against you. She's generous with her kisses and loves being petted, scratched, kissed, and having her belly rubbed. SUGAR gets along very well with the other small dogs, and she loves to play and do zoomies. She would be thrilled to have a playful small companion dog to bounce around with and will often curl up with one of her foster siblings for a cozy nap. She loves her crinkle toys and has a sweet habit of sucking on her blanket. She isn't so sure about cats and she barks and chases the one in her foster home. She's not been around children in her foster home, but we think she would do just fine with older kids. SUGAR is doing really well with her potty training and will use a pee pad when she can't get outside and she rarely has an accident. She's not leash-trained and does the alligator roll when you try, so she will need a securely fenced yard where she can play and explore safely. While SUGAR might be okay as an only dog, it would need to be in a home where she isn't left alone for long stretches. She loves companionship, whether it's from her humans or another pup. If you're ready for a loyal, loving sidekick who will fill your days with smiles, SUGAR just might be your perfect match. SUGAR has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, spayed, heartworm negative, has had 12 month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. *A Place of Hope Rescue is a foster-based rescue located in Pensacola, Florida.
