Courtesy Posting: BAKERSFIELD, CA (CENTRAL CA- Some partial transport may be available)- FRIENDLY, YOUNG, ADORABLE MALE CHOW 'ZAFFEY' IN NEED OF A LOVING, RESPONSIBLE FOREVER HOME- gets along with other dogs. Please help us find a loving, home for handsome Zaffey, an approximate 2.5 year old boy. His owner has had him since since a few weeks old and cares about him deeply. Unfortunately, this owner is a truck driver and always gone, where he left Zaffey with friends or family who were supposed to take care of him, but didn't. Instead they abandoned him as Zaffey was found at a shelter in the owner's absence, not once but twice. While this owner reclaimed him both times, he then has had to take him in his truck to live on the road. Unfortunately, he cannot keep doing this, nor risk leaving him with others who may abandon or lose Zaffey again. Please note the owner has to leave again in a few days again for another trucking assignment. For the safety and welfare of Zaffey, the owner reached out to us for help to find him a better and stable home and environment. The owner says Zaffey is friendly with people and other dogs, and the shelter and volunteer previously noted his friendliness as well, If you are breed savvy and are interested in meeting and adopting Zaffey, please contact [email protected] or Southern California Chow Chow Rescue Network asap who is trying to assist with his placement. If you have another dog, a meet and greet is recommended Please note he is not good with cats. All adopters will be asked for a home check (which may be virtual), an application, a vet reference, proof of prior or current chows, and a signed adoption contract. Zaffey was current on vaccinations, and already neutered, although it is recommended his eyes should be checked and treated as meds for possible entropion.
