Meet Pepsi, a petite 6-pound Chihuahua mix with long legs, wire hair, and a striking personality. At just 2 years old, Pepsi has already been through quite a journey. She was surrendered to a shelter on April 21st along with her puppies. Understandably, she was very scared and protective at the time. Once her puppies were weaned, the shelter reached out to Misfits Dog Rescue for help due to her fearfulness and shyness. Despite her rough start, Pepsi warmed up immediately to our volunteers and showed her sweet, affectionate side. Pepsi is still a bit timid, but she's come a long way and is much braver now. She enjoys playtime and often surprises us with bursts of joyful zoomies. She can be energetic and would enjoy an active home where she has opportunities to play and explore. She gets along well with other dogs, although she hasn't been tested with cats-we suspect she'd be fine. Because she can be snappy when frightened, we're looking for a home without small children. Pepsi is mostly potty trained but may have accidents if not let out early in the morning. This beautiful girl would thrive in a calm, patient home with someone who is around most of the time to give her the love and reassurance she needs. A secure backyard is required, as she's not yet comfortable walking on a leash with new people. Pepsi doesn't shed much and has a unique, scruffy look that matches her quirky charm. She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and has had a dental cleaning. Her adoption fee is $300. We hope you'll consider opening your heart and home to this special little dog. Please apply at www.misfitsdogrescue.org
