About Cotton

Cotton is a 4 year old, Great Pyrenese mix whose haircut makes her look more like a poodle right now! (Her coat was matted too close to the skin for us to get it brushed out.) But don't worry! It will grow back! Cotton is a lucky girl who came to us from a rural shelter that was full and faced with euthanizing for space. She weighs 57 pounds and is kind and loving but a tad weary of new things. She does love dogs of all sizes but can be a little scared of rowdy kids and new people. Give her just a little time to get to know you and you will win her heart! Cotton is a true nature lover and fan of the great outdoors! She's most comfortable, content and enjoys the freedom of a fenced in yard. She's looking for an owner who will give her lots of outside playtime and let her move into the house when she is ready! Augusta Dog Adoptions is a 501c3, foster-based rescue. We take applications online and schedule adoptions in Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
