On 6/10/25, April's world changed. This sweet, gentle girl was surrendered to our shelter - not because she wasn't loved, but because her family is going through a heartbreaking chapter. Her mom has been battling cancer, and with treatments and her dad traveling for work, they knew April deserved more attention than they could give her. Her previous owners described April as everything you'd hope for in a family dog. She's calm, affectionate, and respectful with kids (she lived with a toddler!), relaxed around other dogs and cats, and loves to play. She knows how to sit on command, walks well on leash, and even stood patiently while the family's son (a budding barber) shaved graffiti style letters into her side. That level of chill speaks volumes about her temperament. Like many dogs who are used to the comforts of home, April is finding the shelter loud and overwhelming. But she's still the same sweet soul, gently leaning in for comfort and pets whenever someone stops by her kennel. April is ready to love again. She's just waiting for someone to give her that second chance.
