Volunteer favorite Pretty has a growth on her toe that is causing hind end lameness. She needs out-patient monitoring and possible toe amputation. She has been at the shelter for 222 days! This social senior deserves a soft landing. This poor girl has waited since NOVEMBER of 2024 for a family and yet has consistently been overlooked. It's time. It's time for Pretty to have all the love and care she deserves. Please share her far and wide or step up to foster or adopt her now. If you foster, the rescue that pulls her will pay her medical expenses. This sweet senior has the saddest tale. Abandoned at the age of 10 by her owner and left with his ex, PRETTY came to the shelter way back on the first day of November, and has waited in her lonely kennel ever since in the hopes a family would give her a loving retirement home. She is simply the sweetest little spirit you could ever hope to meet, and is adored by volunteers. Read their accolades, then please rush to foster or adopt her so she doesn't have to spend even another minute in that place. Pretty earned a stellar rating on her behavior assessment, is exceptionally sweet and affectionate, and needs a family deserving of all her love. A VOLUNTEER WRITES: 'I love this dog! Not only does she live up to the name Pretty, but she happens to be a lovely, sweet, little girl. Pretty is all about 2 main things: play and affection. She loves to grab toys and run around with them. And she loves to sit on the bench with me and try to sneak in kisses. What a wonderful character to spend time with. If you are feeling good, Pretty will raise your spirits even higher. What a charmer! Come meet her at Manhattan ACC.' A VOLUNTEER WRITES: 'Meet Pretty a senior dog who was collateral damage in a failed relationship & is at the shelter at no fault of her own. This is her story. Last month a citizen came to the shelter & wanted to surrender a dog that was left behind by her ex who owned the dog. Sadly, she had to move to a new place that didn't allow any dogs on the property so she couldn't keep Pretty any longer. The shelter was the last resort as no one else would take the dog. After being asked the necessary questions, the citizen would sign over the paperwork and go on their way. Ever since arriving to the shelter, since Pretty is a senior she has been struggling to get seen in a sea of dogs. As you know seniors tend to get overlooked everyday while everyone just wants a puppy or that desirable dog. We just hope this post will get her noticed & help improve her chances of living out her golden years in a warm home. Together we can get her home. Let's make it happen. You know what to do. 212891.' I have medical needs that staff will address with you when you meet me. I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe. I prefer to call the shots and enjoy coming to you when I'm ready for pets. I would do best in a home without very tiny humans, although I could be open to older human children once I meet them. I'm ready to learn! I need a patient person who has the time to work on training with me. PRETTY, ID# 212891, 10 Yrs.
