Bear is a 5-year-old Australian Cattle Dog (also known as a Queensland Heeler) with a heart full of love and a spirit made for adventure. Weighing in at about 35 lbs, she's the perfect size for both mountain trails and couch cuddles. Bear is incredibly sweet, smart, and deeply loyal. She's energetic and would thrive with an active person or couple-she makes an excellent hiking, running, or road trip companion! That said, she also knows how to relax and is just as happy lounging at your feet, cuddled up, or quietly hanging out at your favorite coffee shop. She's fully house-trained, crate-trained (and truly loves her crate!), and recently completed professional e-collar training to brush up on her skills. She's fantastic on a leash-polite around people and dogs-and has been working on off-leash recall too. Her trainer is happy to provide a reference! Bear is great in the car, happy to go anywhere with you, and often joins her current owner at work, calmly resting under the desk. She's used to coexisting peacefully with a cat in the backyard and does great. Bear is spayed and up-to-date on all vaccinations, so she's healthy and ready for her forever home. She tends to bond more easily with women and just needs a little extra time and patience to warm up to men. She can be shy around new people at first but blossoms once she feels safe and loved. We're heartbroken to rehome her, but she's anxious around our toddler, and we want her to have a home where she feels fully comfortable and confident. Bear would thrive in a calm, adult home-ideally with a woman or a couple, someone active who can continue nurturing her love of companionship and exploration. If you're looking for a devoted, affectionate, and outdoorsy best friend, Bear is your girl.
