About GIN GIN

Adoption Fee: $400.00
Yorkie
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

GIN GIN is a 6.5 year old, 7.1 pound gentle, affectionate little Gold Dust Yorkie looking for a calm, loving forever home with a fenced yard and a small dog friend. She was surrendered with a lot of other dogs from an emergency situation. GIN GIN is small enough to carry easily and snuggle often, which just happens to be her favorite thing! She adores curling up in your lap, getting belly rubs, and nuzzling under your chin. She will follow you everywhere, always wanting to be close. (She may sneak underfoot, so watch your step!) She can be startled if picked up too quickly and may yelp if she feels unsafe. She's much happier when lifted gently and handled with care, and then she just melts into your arms. GIN GIN gets along wonderfully with small other dogs and would do best in a home with a friendly pup to play or cuddle with, especially if you're out during the day. She will not be happy spending hours away from her person though! She has not been tested around cats or children. If there are kids in the home they should be older kids familiar with small dogs. GIN GIN is housebroken and quickly picked up her foster home's routine. She had only a few accidents during her first few days. She's smart, eager to please, and also uses a pee pad when needed. She doesn't need to be crated while you're gone and has done great being loose in the home. GIN GIN rides well in the car and recently started walking nicely on a leash. While she's still unsure about harnesses (they scare her), she walks calmly with a regular collar and sticks right by your side. She's little and a big fan of backyard squirrel chases. A fenced yard is required. At night, GIN GIN sleeps in a open-door kennel and goes straight in when she hears, 'let's go to bed.' While she'd love to snuggle in bed, her foster home is full and she's perfectly content all night in her own cozy space. GIN GIN has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, spayed, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. *A Place of Hope Rescue is a foster-based rescue located in Pensacola, Florida.
