About Duke

��� This is a very difficult post for us to make, but we are looking for someone who may be interested in adopting our 7-year-old Doberman. I have had Duke since he was four weeks old, and he has been like a son to me, until a year ago when my daughter was born. He is shy, timid, and very sweet once he gets to know you. He is also housebroken and has never shown any signs of bad behavior-until recently. Since the arrival of our new baby, he has started showing some territorial behavior and slight signs of aggression, Because of this, we no longer feel it's safe to keep him in our home with a young child, though it breaks our hearts. Duke has never bitten anyone, although, with my daughter going through her pulling phase, and Our nanny bringing other small children into our home we Would have more peace of mind Knowing there wasn't a chance Of any of the children getting harmed. We believe he would do best in a calm, experienced, adult-only home where he can feel safe and secure. He deserves a loving environment with someone who understands shy or protective dogs and is willing to give him the time he needs to feel comfortable.
