About TRIXIE

TRIXIE is a 5-month-old, 7 pound Shih Tzu/Poodle mix (Shih-Poo) who was surrendered to rescue. She may look black at first glance, but she's actually a rich chocolate brown and her coat is as soft as it looks! TRIXIE is all puppy: high-energy, curious, and mischievous in the most lovable way. She absolutely loves toys, but if she can't find one, she'll turn just about anything into one-whether it's a sock, a shoe, a fly swatter, or even a cookie sheet. Her playful nature keeps everyone entertained! TRIXIE gets along well with other dogs, especially those closer to her size (up to around 20 pounds) and would be happiest with a small playmate in her new home- so that's what we are looking for! She's not quite as interested in the bigger pups but enjoys romping around with her playgroup. She runs full speed during the day and sleeps like a dream at night, curled up in the big bed, quiet and content until morning. TRIXIE is not fully housebroken yet, but she's made great progress and uses a doggy door well in her foster home. With continued consistency and structure, she'll be there in no time. Because of her zoomie-loving energy, TRIXIE would be best in a home with a fenced yard and with an active person or family who will give her plenty of playtime. She hasn't been around toddlers, so we'd recommend older children who can match her energy and respect her small size. We don't know how she would be with cats. TRIXIE has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, spayed, on heartworm prevention, and microchipped with a lifetime registration. *A Place of Hope Rescue is a foster-based rescue located in Pensacola, Florida. We do not have a physical facility for visits. To meet or adopt one of our dogs, you must first submit an adoption application for review. We adopt to homes within a 1-6 hour drive to Pensacola. Puppies and dogs with pending vet appointments, and some dogs with behavioral or medical issues are only adoptable locally.
