VIDEO INCLUDED: Rudy had surgery to amputate his leg to remove the mass. He did great! Now we are in need of a foster for his aftercare and donations. 'RUDY IS OUT OF TIME! HE NEEDS A MIRACLE HOME NOW! This is one of the most urgent, heartbreaking pleas we've ever had to make. Please take a moment to read Rudy's story and be the one who helps change how it ends. Rudy is an 8-year-old pitbull who was found limping and scared on the streets near Cleveland Ave and Van Buren Blvd. He had been dumped. His body tells a story of cruelty: Scarred skin. Filed-down teeth. Fresh wounds. The vet believes Rudy was used as a bait dog in the cruel world of dog fighting- helpless, tortured, and betrayed. And now, as if that suffering wasn't enough, Rudy is battling cancer. A large, painful mass had been growing on his leg. We were preparing for surgery, hoping donations would come through in time. But this week everything changed. The mass ruptured. The wound is now open, raw, and will not heal. We rushed him in for emergency surgery, but the surgeon told us: 'It's too late. The tumor has grown too large. The location is too complex.' Our only options were to amputate his leg or put him down. But here's the thing, we won't give up on Rudy. He is still full of life, joy, and love. He sniffs flowers. He explores the yard with curiosity. He soaks up every pet and treat like it's a treasure. He deserves to live out whatever time he has feeling safe, loved, and cherished. But he can't stay in boarding anymore. His open wound must be protected from dirt and infection. If it gets contaminated, he could develop sepsis- a deadly blood infection. We've placed him in a hotel temporarily. But we cannot afford that for long. Rudy needs a safe, indoor home RIGHT NOW. We are BEGGING for a hospice foster who will give Rudy a soft place to land for however long he has left. We are looking for a very special, compassionate person. The rescue will cover all medical expenses. Rudy just needs YOU- someone with a big heart willing to give him the peace, comfort, and love he has always deserved. Two more specialist consultations are scheduled, there is still a chance his life can be saved. But right now, our priority is giving Rudy a safe, clean, quiet home where he can rest and heal. Rudy is not just 'another dog.' He is a survivor. He is a warrior. And he still believes in people. Let's prove he's right. Please text Jennifer at (714) 366-8170 if you can foster. Text is best. Rudy doesn't have time to wait. SHARE this story with your friends, family, coworkers, anyone who might say 'yes' to this precious boy. Let's surround Rudy with the love and dignity he's always deserved.
