About BLU BEAR

Lab mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Great with adults, kids, strangers and other dogs! He is even 'curious' of cats! So why oh why is he still here??? He has to be the most handsome boy we've seen in a long time. BLU BEAR came to QuACC an owner surrender because his parent said he has a habit of eating items he shouldn't which have caused him to need surgery twice for blockages. They cannot risk nor afford further medical care at this time. He may need lessons on edibles vs. non-edibles or go to a family that understand you don't leave things hanging around the yard or home and, when on walks, have him wear a gentle leader so he can be quickly redirected. Whatever the case, it certainly is worth it given what a great dog this Bernese Mountain Dog/Rottie/Lab mix boy is. Blu has never hurt a living soul, he is friendly with strangers and he lived with another Bernese and was friendly and playful with them. In fact he is friendly and playful with unfamiliar dogs too! He lived with a 2 year old toddler and was tolerant of them, though he basically ignored them. And even though he didn't live with cats in his home, his parent said when he sees them on walks he has no pretty drive, doesn't lunge, but is just curious of them. We can't think of a single reason why this gorgeous boy is even still at the shelter! Please share Blu Bear far and wide for a family, or, if you can take him in A VOLUNTEER WRITES: 'Blu Bear ժ It was love at first sight for me with this big, furry boy. Blu is 81lb and just so gentle, moving practically in slow motion as he places a paw in our hands or lays down. He loves toys, but mostly seems to love curling his body into you while helicoptering his tail, and letting you pet that enormous gorgeous head. Since I have met him, I've seen Blu out and about with staff and volunteers, and I admit that each time I'm jealous that they are spending time with him! They all brag about him too, calling back 'he's AMAZING!' and other praises. Blu's guardian reported that he would eat objects and needed surgeries due to obstructions. They surrendered him with wonderful notes on his behavior with dogs, kids and people, as well as how he was in the home. You can learn more by visiting him at Queens ACC where his ID is #223968.' THE VOLUNTEERS MADE THIS HANDSOME KID A REEL! https://www.facebook.com/share/r/15XKpJWFys/ WHAT MY FRIENDS AT ACC SAY ABOUT ME: I would do best in a home with only adult humans (Age 13 and over). I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe. I don't always like to share my food, toys or bedding with other animals. I love to be loved, but on my own terms. Let's brush up on some canine body language together! I'm ready to learn! I need a patient person who has the time to work on training with me. I'm excitable and energetic! I will need positive outlets for my energy. BLU BEAR, ID# 223968, @ 3 Yrs.
