Dexter has the soft, majestic look of a Great Pyrenees but we suspect he is mostly Irish Wolfhound mix. He's super friendly, gentle when taking treats, and absolutely lives for attention (especially if it comes in the form of back scratches!). His foster said: He is a very happy and friendly boy who is great with other dogs, Quail (another foster pup) and Dexter are best buddies! Dexter walks well on a leash and is fully potty trained. He is medium energy-loves toys, bones, and playing. Dexter can get a little bouncy with excitement at first , so best with big kids or adults, because - Yep, he's a BIG BOY. With his medium energy level, he's the perfect match for a family (big kids) who enjoys both active outings and relaxed cuddle time. Dexter would thrive in a home that includes him in daily life and gives him the time he needs to fully relax and trust. Once he knows he's safe, he'll be your shadow, your cuddle buddy. Apply: Fill out adoption application completely and submit all necessary documents. 2.)Application Decision: approved applicants will be notified via phone call and email. ��%BD'��%BD��%BD3.)Foster-to-Adopt Trial Period: after approval, you have the opportunity to do a meet and greet and bring your dog home! You get a 5 day foster-to-adopt (FTA) period to make sure its the right fit. 4.) Final Decision: By the end of the FTA period, please let us know your final decision to adopt or return the dog to our rescue. 5.) Home Visit: After the adoption process we conduct a home visit either in person or via zoom meeting to ensure that everything is going well with the transition and to answer any final questions you may have. 6.) Neuter/spay for puppies: for dogs who are not fixed at the time of adoption, we will reimburse for the procedure once we receive proof of spay/neuter. The procedure MUST be done at HAWS Snip Clinic in Waukesha, WI or Wisconsin Community Veterinarian Center in Madison, WI. If you would like to go through your veterinarian or another location, we will reimburse $150 once we receive proof of the procedure. We recommend spay/neuter around 6 months old. **Note: Adoptions are not considered final until the dog is neutered/spayed if applicable**
