About George

George is a gorgeous hunk of a 100-pound, three-year-old, brindle and white male mastiff looking for a loving guardian. George was found as an emaciated stray in Tinley Park roaming with a two-pound chain embedded into his neck. Someone had chained him as a puppy and left him there. The chain had grown into the skin of his neck and he had to bite it off breaking a tooth in the process. He's very loyal to those he loves giving sloppy drool-filled kisses. But he can be guarded and nervous around new people - especially some men. He would do best as the only pet in a calm all-adult household. He can be very protective of his home and family. George has been in training and walks beautifully on leash, and knows the commands sit, down and paw. He takes treats enthusiastically from your fingers. He is now very healthy, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, heartworm tested and on monthly heartworm preventative.
