Courtesy Posting: SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA (Chula Vista in S CAL)- 1 yr old HAPPY, RARE BRINDLE CHOW BOY LOOKING FOR HIS FOREVER HOME, OR A FOSTER AND RESCUE. CHULA VISTA ANIMAL CARE FACILITY; - ID #A262699 'DARTH' URGENT- SHELTER IS FULL AND ASKING FOR HELP for this dear boy was found as a stray and slightly underweight. Fondly named Darth by the shelter, he is estimated to be only 1 year old, now weighs 50 lbs, and has been neutered. His shelter notes indicate he 'Loves to be with his people, very happy to be with you!! Loves toys!! Enjoys chasing them. A good running buddy. Easy to examine , attention seeking. Took him to pima yard where he ran around and explored. Ran up to me with wide wagging tail and bouncing around. Pushed his butt towards me and allowed for all handling. Become slightly nervous for tech hug but allowed and became playful. Does become mouthy when you play but can be redirected towards toys. Loves toys and allows take-away. Enjoys treats but picky.' Additional notes show he came in with a rope tied around his neck and was somewhat nervous and cautious, but that he has improved in time now that he has been there a few weeks. They said he is 'okay with other dogs' now, but a meet and greet and slow intro would be advised. They also recommend, 'Needs work over the next year on his dog manners and manners in general, but once you are in the club he is a lot of fun.' We were given nice video of Darth in the play yard where he enjoys having fun. If you are interested in adopting, please contact the Chula Vista Shelter directly at (619) 691-5123 and ask for ID, and also email, [email protected] This is his listing link to check on his status: https://24petconnect.com/DetailsMain/CHLV/A262699 However, please ALSO contact [email protected] or Southern California Chow Chow Rescue Network if you need further help or are interested in fostering. She is trying to assist the shelter with his placement, and can try to pair fosters with a rescue to help. Most rescue groups do need a committed foster to save dogs.
