About Athena

Athena is a 3 year old pitbull terrier, and truly is the sweetest girl. When we first met her she gave us both a hug. During the introduction with Iggy, the staff member stated not loving their interaction, but not hating it either. We decided to take a chance and she has been increasingly stressing Iggy out. she does not do well with other female dogs. I think she would fit best in a one-dog home. She is wonderful with kids, usually not believing in personal space and gives all the kisses. She is ok with cats but does like to chase them/play-getting carried away sometimes but always listens when you ask her to stop. She is terrified of thunderstorms/fireworks/loud noises. At night if there are storms she prefers cuddling on the bed safe with her people/person. She also does well sleeping in a dog bed but absolutely prefers sleeping with people! She LOVES tug-o-war or chewing on nyla bones, or simply cuddling/sleeping. She has only chewed one shoe and I have not seen her do it again. She is potty trained (needs extra encouragement if bad weather/loud scary noises outside), as well as crate trained. Sometimes she just likes to chill in her crate if not on the couch. She has been with us for a touch over two years and I am so sad that this didn't work. If you or someone you know would be a great fit-we are looking for her perfect fur-ever family!
