About Remy

He's well-trained, follows most commands well &he is a very sweet dog who tries hard to please. He loves to sleep, naps alot of the time, but will postpone a nap in favor of going for a walk, which he loves! He has separation anxiety because dad has had to leave frequently for duty & training with the military. He will follow you around the house very closely, preferring to be nearby rather than doing his own thing. The one exception is he loves to lay on the deck & sun himself, which he is content to do alone. We do limit him to 15 minutes or so because he can get too much sun - especially on his pale belly! Remy was 'raised' by a cat, so has zero interest in messing with them. He is very social, loves to make new dog friends so he can run & play with them. He likes to play chase and likes a little wrassling, too. 1) He has allergies, takes meds daily (eats them in a pill pocket no problem). We also need to wipe his paws clean with medicated wipes after he goes outside. He is very tolerant of this. It feels good to him. 2) He has separation anxiety, as dad has to leave a lot for Army stuff. He developed a couple habits like chewing his paws and biting his lips, so we previously had him coned & crated whenever he had to be home alone. This sometimes made anxiety worse. We have worked very hard to get him able to stay alone without the cone. Crating is our next hurdle. He is still crated at night. During the day, we only crated for 1-2 hours if we have a doctor appointment or similar. 3) He isn't the greatest car rider. He gets overly excited, whines. He often will need to poop (he's just excited) after just a few minutes in the car. Most times, if he whines and does a peepee dance, we'll pull over so he can poop, then carry on & he's good. Occasionally for a longer ride (30+min), he may get carsick.
