About Rocky

Rocky came to me as a puppy with four other siblings. They were dropped off in my yard because I was known as the neighborhood animal lover/rescuer, and all five puppies were covered in mange, had been dipped in some sort of oil and were bloated from what I could only imagine were worms. To keep a long story short, after various vet visits and vet bills, Rocky was the only pup to survive an incredibly bad case of hook worms. I did originally attempt to call animal control, but they did not respond until a week later after all the puppies had passed away. Later, he also suffered from a bone density condition that had both of his front feet bowing in. Thankfully, this was taken care of and he walks and runs just fine now. Unfortunately, shortly after I took on this project to ensure his survival, I lost my job. I was never meant to keep Rocky and have tried to rehome him several times to no avail. I love him very much, but I struggle to make ends meet and feed them, and currently house 2 other dogs and 10 cats, of which I am also trying to rehome. Rocky is a very loving, somewhat skittish dog. He has never bitten anyone, though he can be protective of his people. He has been attacked by another dog in the neighborhood, but it was an intact male dog and he was submissive the whole time. He has had no issues with the dogs I currently have. I don't have the money to get his vaccinations or to have him neutered. He desperately needs a loving home, possibly with older kids as he is a bit rambunctious and is not a gentle boy when it comes to playing. He knows how to sit, knows his name very well. Currently the fleas have been bad in my area, and I am trying to worm him as he's lost weight recently, but like I said, I am very much struggling. Please let me know if this sweet boy interests you, he needs a home that can take care of him properly.
