My name is Chewy. I am a dog that has shown his potential to grow leaps and bounds in just a few weeks. I am about 1 year old and around 50 lbs. When I went to my foster home a couple of months ago, I was definitely a very timid boy. I probably was never shown anything consistent in my young life. I have put in the effort to enjoy my surroundings and try new things! I love other dogs and enjoy my two foster siblings. I went slowly with them so they knew I was not a threat and I learned that I could also trust them. I am the same with people. I am timid at first but always gentle. I am 'easy' in many ways, out of the puppy phase, I want to please, watch and learn. I am also a quiet dog. I am not a dog for people with high and quick expectations. I simply need a patient, consistent and secure home that can be kind and let me come out of my shell on my own time. My next move to my forever home will be easier than my transition from the shelter to foster home. I have the tools to take with me. I enjoy being close to my humans and dogs and I have every interest in life. I go on walks and I even ride in the car! A fenced in yard is a must for me - just because it gives me the freedom to go at my own pace. Here is a link to the application: https://asecondchanceforziva.org/adopt/adoption-process-application/
