Courtesy Posting: CODE RED- CLOVIS, NM (nr TEXAS BORDER) - GORGEOUS, YOUNG RED FEMALE CHOW 'KIRA' soon to be on EUTH LIST FOR at HI KILL, REMOTE SHELTER, Clovis Animal Services ID #83751 (and second similar female chow there #83750 we have posted separately)- PLS HELP US FIND AN ADOPTER, FOSTER AND OR RESCUE AND PLEDGES FOR EACH OR TOGETHER ASAP, need local help too Help! This beautiful girls we are calling Kira (ID #83751) and Scarlett ( ID #83750) were found together as strays and brought the Clovis shelter who does not hold dogs long. Both girls are expected to be on the euthanasia list any day at this very high kill shelter in remote New Mexico, near West Texas. Some transport may be available. They can be adopted or fostered or rescued separately. From what we learned from a volunteer at this shelter, she said, 'the chows at the shelter are both females. They are matted. They also appear to have been tied out with a 1' collar. They are friendly with other dogs, they are not aggressive, and won't walk on a lease yet. Probably about 30lbs. They don't seem to be barkers. Unsure of why or how they were picked up' The two look young, they are small, and were also kenneled together, but now in separate kennels as there was room, but may be going back together. We do not know if they are bonded or just get along, but in an effort to save the life of even just one, we are encouraging anyone who can adopt,. foster or rescue consider even one as that is better than none being saved. Plus it then makes it easier to find an adopter or foster for the other one as not everyone can take in two more dogs. Of course, if there is someone who can it would be ideal if someone is willing to adopt or foster both though. If you have any interest to foster, adopt either dog or both, or can help in some way, or can just pledge towards their rescue and expenses, please contact [email protected] or Southern California Chow Chow Rescue Network who is trying to assist with their placement. Both dogs can be adopted directly from the shelter (who can fix them), but due to the distance and logistics, we can try to refer you to a rescue group and local people to assist if needed to foster to adopt. They may also be able to assist with some transport to nearby states for approved homes, or fosters. But a foster or home and or rescue is needed NOW to save each dog's life. Adopters and rescues may also contact the shelter directly at (575) 769-7893, 575-763-9461, and also email [email protected] and [email protected] . Put IDs 83750 and or 83751 in the subject lines.
