About Rocky

Rocky is a handsome 4.5 year old broken coated jack mix who just wants a chance at a good life. He came to Raintree from Arkansas where he lived with an older human who passed away. Rocky and the large breed dog who was his fur brother, were being taken care of by a good neighbor for a few months. Finally a wonderful family member had the dogs flown to her in SC where she made it her mission to find them a good home. When we asked if we could help we said, 'of course'. Rocky is a good boy with people and he is getting the hang of walking on a leash. It is not known if his hearing is limited, or he is just really good at ignoring you, but he stays focused on you, and watches you intently. He is very low key and seems respectful as he doesn't jump up on you and he isn't an obsessive barker. Although Rocky lives with another dog, we haven't integrated him with the others here successfully, and they may not be entirely his fault. The ones here we attempted to integrate him with for attempted play time are boogers and full of themselves (imagine that, a Jack Russell full of himself). We think Rocky would be great as an only dog. If someone has experience with Jack Russells and patients to integrate him slowly, that would be a nice project. Rocky has been neutered and he is current on his vaccines and he is patiently waiting for someone to love him. He really is a lovable guy. He has beautiful splotches of tan on his sides.
