Charlie has been our dog for 5 years. During this time he has been one of two doggs that live in our homfe. The other dog is also small and about 6 months older than Charlie. The two of them get along very well, playing together and even eating together. Recently, however we have added a third dog to our family. A puppy of a breed that is large. The puppy will eventually weigh around 90 lbs. Charlie weighs 12. However, after 6 weeks of living together Charlie. Has not accepted the new dog. He attacks the puppy regularly, sometimes drawing blood. We have decided that Charlie will be much better off in a home where he is the only dog. He is a sweet and affectionate lap dog with people he knows. Though serving as an effective 'sentinel' dog when strangers approach our home (this is characteristic of his breed), he warms up pretty quickly to turn strangers to friends. He's never had much interaction with children. He is VERY well housebroken. Has lived mostly in our house (he has had access to our fenced yard) and can be left alone without accidents for long stretches (e.g., 8 hours).
