OMG those ears!%A0Our adorable pup, Xander, is a natural born comedian. He is part of an accidental litter of puppies surrendered by owners who 'forgot' to have their adult dogs spayed/neutered.%A0 Xander and his siblings were just eight weeks old when they joined our Rescue in Canterbury, Connecticut, in early April. He is the most outgoing of his litter mates and seems totally unfazed by the chaotic rescue process.%A0 We were curious about his breed mix and had him DNA tested. Xander is mix of Husky, German Shepherd and a double dose of Coonhound, with a smidge of Aussie Cattle Dog for comic relief.%A0His adult size is projected to be in the 50-80 pound range.%A0 Nineteen weeks old,%A0Xander is ready for his new home. He is a charasmatic, friendly boy who has adapted well to different people and situations.%A0He loves all people and other dogs. Xander plays gently with other dogs and would thrive in a multi-dog home with other gentle, playful dogs.%A0 As a working breed mix, Xander needs a good deal of exercise and mental stimulation to maintain good behavior. He does not have over the top puppy energy, but he does need a couple brisk leash walks each day. Xander would be an excellent choice for an experienced puppy-savvy adopter, willing to commit to ongoing training and socialization. He would do well with an active couple or family with older kids, who can play gently with a young dog. We think Xander could be fine with cats.%A0 So far we have seen an exceptional temperment in Xander, and we seek an adopter willing to raise him as a Canine Good Citizen. He is in excellent health and is fully vaccinated. If you are interested in Xander, please write to%[email protected]%A0or call/text Denise at 860-908-9738 for more info.
