About Farley

Those emails will get the quickest response, we do the best we can, but if we have to follow up with an email asking you about yourself and waiting for a response, well, we have already moved on to the next email that has provided the details. We are doing the best we can to find the right home for each dog or cat, just need your help too! :) Usually when a dog comes into rescue we are not sure of their breeds, but not in Farley's case. Turns out his previous family had his DNA done. We can certainly see the dachshund in Farley, but did not expect the rest of the details,lol. Farley is actually: 42% Chihuahua 19% Cocker Spaniel 18% Dachsund 9% Mini Poodle 4% Bichon Frise 2% Min Pin 2% Toy Fox Terrier 2% German Shepherd 1% Segugio Italiano 1% Danish Swedish Farmdog Who would have ever guesses, so that would make him a wonderful little mutt!! And, Farley is actually a wonderful little dog, no matter what sort of ancestors contributed to this delightful mix. As mentioned, he did have a family, they have had him since he was a puppy. We also know that he was born on May 22nd, 2022, so he just had his 3rd birthday!! We were told the family was moving and could not take him with, sad for Farley. But, he will be fine and go on to love his new family very much. Farley is looking for a dog savvy home, someone that has had a dog before and understands how to acclimate them to their home. Farley has been thru a lot and is a little anxious initially. His family had reported he did not do well meeting strangers and was snappy at kids, but he also lived with two kids, so ?? He was scared at the shelter he was at, but not aggressive at all. He came into our foster home, and although cautious at first(and afraid of our big dog) he has settled in and seems to be a happy little guy. He loves to play in the yard, go for sniffs, and is very excited in the evening to get on the couch and snuggle in for some TV time. He does snore, just a heads up, lol. Farley also is housebroken, walks well on a leash and has been very quiet, he has only barked a couple of times. He sleeps well in his crate at night, and even goes in before it is bedtime. He will do well with an experienced dog family that will understand he needs a little space initially to settle in, he will give kisses and wiggles as he becomes more confident in his new home. He is great with other small dogs, a dog buddy would be great. He is about 18 pounds and is the most gorgeous redhead we have seen in a long time!!
