It's with heavy hearts that we're looking to rehome our beloved Australian Shepherd. He's a truly wonderful dog - incredibly loyal, intelligent, and full of energy. He thrives when he has a job to do and loves being with his people. As a classic Aussie, he has a strong herding instinct and is always eager to be part of the action. Unfortunately, this instinct has proven to be a challenge in our family setting. He has tried to herd small children, and although it wasn't aggressive, he has nipped on two occasions. Because of this, we believe he would do best in a home without young kids, where his natural instincts can be better directed. He would thrive in an active, adult-only home or with older kids who understand the breed. Ideally, he'd be with someone familiar with working breeds or who can give him the stimulation, structure, and exercise he needs to feel fulfilled. This is not an easy decision - he's a truly special dog - but we want to make sure he ends up in the best environment possible, one where his personality and instincts are a perfect fit.
