About Shadow

NOT A FAMILY PET: This is a working dog! Meet Shadow: Shadow arrived to WCAS as an owner surrender after her owner was facing lifestyle changes that meant they could not keep her. Through some investigative work and trial and error, our shelter kennel technician figured out that Shadow knows Czech for 'fun commands!' Her mannerisms and intensity to stay and then launch at her toys made us wonder if she knew a bite sleeve. Through the help of our shelter medical director, one of her friends came to help us test Shadow out on a sleeve. She most definitely knows a sleeve but is a bit sloppy on the formal obedience aspects and easily distracted. Shadow is currently on a maintenance dose of Trazodone and Gabapentin to help with daily shelter life/kennel stress, so it is possible that she'd have a bit more focus if she wasn't currently on those medications. Shadow needs someone who wants to play bite sports or who knows this game and could train her in a foster setting outside the shelter environment. She is a special girl dealt a rough hand. Shadow is spayed and up-to-date on her rabies and distemper vaccinations. She is on a preventative schedule for fleas, ticks, and heartworm.
