*LOCAL ADOPTION ONLY - Within a one hour drive to Pensacola, FL* �ϬJiminy's Wish List�Ϭ ��� Fenced yard ��� Similarly sized playful dog friend ��� No kids JIMINY is a 21-month-old, 16.4 lb cream Shih Tzu with a sweet face and big, soulful eyes. He may look like a little showstopper, but behind that handsome exterior is a shy boy who needs patience, understanding, and time to blossom. When you first meet JIMINY, he will likely be timid and may try to hide. With gentle encouragement, however, he begins to trust and show his affectionate side. Once comfortable, Jiminy is smart, eager to please, and full of love to give. He just needs the right family willing to let him move at his own pace. JIMINY does best with a canine companion. He loves having a doggie friend to follow, play with, and learn from. He does is ok with a more confident or even bossy playmate, and while his best match will probably be a buddy around his own size. He met a cat without issue, and while small children may overwhelm him, older children or teens should be just fine. JIMINY is still working on his potty training but has made progress, especially when he had access to a dog door in his previous home. He needs a patient adopter to help him transition into a new routine. Jiminy rides well in a car on short rides and walks on a leash but since he's easily startled and timid with new situations, he needs a fenced yard. At night, JIMINY sleeps happily in bed with his foster family and the other dogs in his foster home. Because JIMINY may need extra support settling in, we are limiting him to local adoption only. What he really needs is simple: time, patience, a playmate, and love. In return, he will reward you with loyalty, kisses, and the joy of watching him become the wonderful companion he's meant to be. JIMINY has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, neutered, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. Jiminy is still a work in progress, but with the right home, he's going to make someone an incredible companion. *A Place of Hope Rescue is a foster-based rescue located in Pensacola, Florida. We do not have a physical facility for visits. To meet or adopt one of our dogs, you must first submit an adoption application for review. Please remember to check your spam folder for any communication from our team. We adopt to homes within a 1-6 hour drive to Pensacola. Puppies and dogs with pending vet appointments, and some dogs with behavioral or medical issues are only adoptable locally. We do not ship or transport our dogs.
