About Sansa

Rehoming this beautiful girl due to owner's child's medical condition. Also open to a foster home. We are reaching out for help finding a forever home for Sansa. Sansa is an 8 year old husky/lab mix, female, she is great in public and at dog parks, very sweet & loving, 51 lbs, ok around children, spayed, chipped and up to date on vaccines. Sansa has no medical issues. She would do best as the only pet, as she can be dominant in the home. Back story: My 14 year old great nephew has been battling leukemia since September of 2024. His family left their dog, Sansa with friends near Myrtle Beach (where they moved from). His mother (my niece) is a single mother and she moved to Boston Children's hospital for treatment for AML for her son in 2024. She is caring for her son post stem cell transplant and they need to stay close to the hospital until 2026 possibly. She is a single mother of 3. Their friends were fostering, but their dog and Sansa didn't get along. Sansa was transported to New England in May of 2025. She cannot stay at the Ronald McDonald House since there are no pets allowed. We are in need of a forever home, preferably a home with a fenced yard in the country (maybe in NH) and an agreement that the children and their mother can visit with Sansa. Sansa has been a part of the family since she was a tiny pup. The family has experienced so much loss in the past 8 months, it would be heartbreaking to lose their beloved dog. I contacted rescue groups and Massachusetts and none of them have any space or wanted to help in anyway. They wanted my niece to relinquish all rights and bring Sansa to a shelter somewhere, never to be seen by the family again. Most of the people I've contacted in New Hampshire haven't been able to help either. A few rescue groups offered to post Sansa's listing on their website. The ASPCA in NH has been the most helpful and is currently fostering her, but it is short-lived (just a few weeks); which we have already gone through one week now.
