About Herschel

Herschel is an 11 month old AKC Registered Full Blooded Rhodesian Ridgeback. Herschel is a sweet and loving puppy that enjoys human companionship; he is intelligent and loyal. Herschel has completed 6 weeks of professional obedience training in Dec 2024. He is a smart guy and needs to be homed with adults without small children in the home. Herschel is best with a consistent environment and is protective of his family members and wary of new people/strangers. Herschel is needing to be rehomed due to our family's current situation (we have small children in our family and Herschel does not do best with smaller children due to his large size and strength during play), and the inability to keep him with us at our place of business each day. Herschel does have medical requirements and dietary restrictions due to health concerns; he was diagnosed with HOD (hypertrophic osteodystrophy) in October 2024 which he should recover from at adulthood and requires a large breed formula dog food. He also has history of UTIs and is currently on urinary food once daily. Herschel has symptoms of GERD, gastroesophageal reflux disease, and takes two tablets daily to assist with food digestion. Herschel's full medical records are available. Herschel will be a wonderful pet for a family who is in search for a loyal companion that requires attention to his daily needs. We hope to connect with an individual that can give him a home of love and support.
