Hi everyone, We're looking for a new home for our 3-year-old Blue Heeler, Diego who we rescued at 1 yo. He's incredibly intelligent and has had extensive training, including crate training, scent/search work, a solid place command, and muzzle conditioning. He has been working weekly with a professional positive behaviorist/trainer for the past year (Boston Dogtor, who's been amazing), and I'd be happy to connect any potential adopter with them. He is up to date on all vaccines and overall has been great. His main challenge is fear-based reactivity/territorial, especially toward strangers in our home. He does have a bite history - about a year ago, before we began working with a behaviorist, and again more recently when a mover unexpectedly (to us) entered the shared foyer of our multifamily condo building. This has led us to the very difficult decision to rehome him under the right conditions or BE (scheduled May 29). In the right environment, ideally with an experienced handler, no children, and a calm, structured routine, we believe Diego could thrive as a loyal companion. We're based in the Boston area but are willing to travel to the right home within reason. Please reach out if you or someone you know may be a good match. We're happy to provide more details. Thank you.
