No, really. He is an Alaskan Huskie (no option for this in description) and pitbull with a bit of a mix in the rest. We have his DNA report. Oscar was pulled from a potential euthanasia when he was 8 months old. He turned a year in January. I had hoped he would work as my next service dog. Because of the circumstances (no assessment, just adoption), I didn't realize his breeds (thought he was a lab/shepherd until I did DNA) nor did I understand his anxiety level. It is his anxiety that makes him reactive to other dogs and sometimes people. None of that works well as service dog behavior. As a result, I've made the heart-wrenching decision to rehome him. Oscar is a sweet, playful, goofy guy who has many commands already in place including sit, stay, wait, place, down, and come (though recall needs continued work). I've worked with another trainer specifically on the reactivity and am confident that he will make a great companion for someone who understands the needs of a sweet, loving, anxious dog and has the time and expertise to continue the training. He is currently in a home (mine) with a small dog (current service dog) and an energetic black lab/border collie. He gets along with them quite well which is one reason I'm confident he can be an amazing companion (just not a service dog). We live on a farm and he is NOT trustworthy with chickens or other small animals. Oscar has digestive issues that can result in significan weight loss and vomiting. He requires probiotics daily (we use kiefer) and no pork in his diet. He is sweet natured and bonds well once he gets to know people. He still has puppy behaviors like playing ball and zoomies. He has 'stim behaviors' where he loves to chew on a small rock (or similar) - doesn't eat it - but also loves toilet paper rolls (we use for treats!). He does NOT do well with plushie toys as he consumes them in large pieces. He would do best in a home where he is an only dog or one older dog who is patient. He needs someone who is not new to dogs.
