%BD%BD%90%BE Seeking a Loving Home for Maya - Our Sweet, Sensitive Pup This is one of the hardest decisions we've ever had to make. With deep love and sadness, we're looking to rehome our dog, Maya. We rescued Maya from a shelter when she was 7 months old, and she's now about 1.5 years old. She's smart, playful, and incredibly affectionate once she trusts you. Maya loves being included in daily life-training games, walks, tug-of-war, and just being near her people. She's especially motivated by mental enrichment like scent work and puzzle toys. We've invested in professional training to support Maya through some fear-based behaviors. She is anxious around new people and can be slow to warm up. When she's nervous, she may bark or growl to create distance-but she has never bitten or come close to it. With patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement, she opens up and becomes a total sweetheart. Maya also loves other dogs and enjoys playtime-especially with dogs her size or larger. With smaller dogs, she's still learning how to adjust her energy and control her impulses, so supervision and slow introductions are important. She'd do well with a calm, confident dog companion who can model good behavior and help her feel secure. Unfortunately, due to my father's serious illness and my role as his primary caregiver, I can no longer give Maya the time, attention, or structure she needs. This decision comes after months of soul-searching and is made from a place of deep love and care. Maya deserves a home that can provide more stability and support than I can right now. Ideal home for Maya: Calm, patient environment with dog-savvy humans Experience with or willingness to continue fear/anxiety training Active lifestyle with time for walks, play, and mental enrichment A home with another friendly dog could be a plus No small children or frequent guests (she needs slow introductions to new people) We're committed to finding Maya a truly wonderful home where she can continue to grow and thrive. Please reach out if you think you might be the right fit or know someone who could be. Thank you for helping us give this special girl the future she deserves.
