About Maria

Maria is a great girl who is ready for a fresh start. She was rescued from a backyard breeder and has spent over a year in rescue but this resilient girl has never given up! Now, she's getting the structure and training she needs to ensure she's fully ready for her forever home. Maria is a stunning German Shepherd who thrives with a strong, experienced handler. She's currently in a board-and-train program, where she's learning to trust, share her space, and feel secure in her environment. With proper boundaries and guidance, she's making incredible progress! She happily lives with children ages 3, 9, 14, and 16. She just doesn't know how big she is. She is not really interested in other dogs and not phased by cats. In the yard, she is a little goofball, she loves to roam around the garden. Maria is leash and crate trained. She will jump in a car but is a little nervous during the ride. Maria will do best in a quiet home without small animals and where she is your one-and-only. She's looking for someone patient and dedicated to continuing her training-her adoption includes private training sessions to help with a smooth transition!
