About Mecho (Met-cho)

I privately adopted Mecho from someone 3 years ago. He was given up because the previous owner moved and couldn't take him with him. Mecho is a very large handsome green eyed boy, so if you are in seach of a large cat he's the guy for you! He's also a gentle giant who loves being groomed. He's very talkative once he gets to know you. He has his front and back claws, but has ever only clawed the cat tree. Keep in mind, because he is a big strong boy who likes sharpening his claws, you will definitely need a cat tree or scratch pad. Mecho will warm up to you very quickly, but he isn't a lap cat, and doesn't care for being held. Plus he weighs between 20-25 pounds. He's lager than a small dog, so picking him up can hurt your back. Despite his size, he is very skittish, and runs away when people, come around. Including you, but once he sees it's you, he makes a u-turn and comes right back. He is also big on head butting your legs with force. He's not trying to hurt you, he's just big and doesn't know his own strength. He also loves laying in the sink, and bathtub. He will also try to join you in the shower if you don't keep an eye on him! My reason for removing him is because I have a young cat who is a bit of a handful. She likes to ruff house a little more than he cares for. She bites, and kicks him, and even though he 20 pounds or so larger than her, he never fights back, he just crys and run away. My baby cat causes him stress and we dont want him to be unhappy. An idea home would be one where, you have mild mannered or older pets who are more settled. He's good with both cats and dogs, as we have both. My dog is a special needs senior, so the dog is not a problem for him. He also warmes up to humans he used to being around pretty quickly. Mecho is a big sweet boy who needs a low stress forever home. If you can provide him with that please reach out. Also, he requires daily brushing, as he is a long haired cat.
