About Marjorie

This is sweet Marjorie! We live in a very small condo in Portland, ME and are looking after her until we can find her a good home with more space to run and play, ideally a yard where she could be off leash. She's a healthy 3-year-old Great Pyrenees who's all up to date with vaccinations and veterinary care. She's super sweet and loves to cuddle; she's very gentle and loves her people. She's a bit reactive around other dogs - barks at them when leash walking - but has lived and gotten along with other dogs in the past. She has been known to get a little overexcited when playing with other dogs; she's never been aggressive with them but she does play a little rough and doesn't always take cues from other dogs. She can also be a little possessive about furniture (just furniture, not food!) but her possessiveness can be easily managed. She has - very rarely - done some mild warning growls at people when they've overstepped her boundaries so any adopter would need to learn her cues and be able to read her (which my partner and I have done easily and have had no issues). Her only other slightly problem behavior is that during car rides she'll bark at dogs or sometimes humans that she sees on the street. Our sense is that she just needs some training and she could definitely make progress on all these things (we're working with a trainer now). Other than that she really is just the sweetest, most loving creature. We've been really enjoying fostering her and would love to keep her ourselves but we really think she'd thrive in a more rural environment that has a lot of outdoor space.
