She's a beautiful, shy, sweet young girl who arrived at the shelter a stray. Trembling during her medical exam, it was apparent she was feeling traumatized by her experience and was feeling overwhelmed in the shelter. BADGER will come to the front of her kennel, then back away a few times before she is lured out with cheese, leashed and taken outside, where she sniffs intently with a tucked tail. Badger will not take treats outside, she just doesn't have that confidence yet. More cowardly lion than brave lady, this lovely, petite girl needs a kind, gentle home where she can decompress and warm at her own pace to her new life. If you are an experienced foster or adopter who can provide her the calm, structured environment where she will flourish and shine A VOLUNTEER WRITES: 'Badger was found tied in a park with bag of food, bowls, toys and even some clothes. She is a petite 3 years old, and under 50 pounds. Her ears may account for most of her weight given their size. Badger has been very fearful given her circumstances, and she has been trying her best to be as brave as possible to show off her stuff. Badger slowly warms up and accepts gentle pets. She has consistently become looser and even wiggly with more familiar handlers. In an interaction with a novel dog, Badger offered play bows, but then became overwhelmed and walked away. In the yard, Badger plays briefly but remains nervous. She is more social out on the street one on one, sliding into a hidey hole with Rachel. Badger is a girl we want to see thrive and shine, and she isn't able to show herself fully at the shelter.' THE VOLUNTEERS MADE ME A REEL!
