About Duchess

Meet Duchess! A loyal, funny, sassy, sweet 6 year old black mouth cur mix. Duchess will be your best friend. Curl up at your feet while you watch TV, comfort you when you're sad, and make you laugh. Some of her favorites are playing hide and seek, going on car rides, playing chase, tug-of-war, chasing the birds, getting brushed, bathed, and climbing up as high as she can on the playground. Duchess was rescued from an abusive household, and because of that suffers from anxiety. If she's feeling anxious, you'll find her sucking on her bed, or letting you know with some growls. She loves meeting new people, but is more hesitant when it comes to men. She'll take a bit to warm up to new men in her home so please be patient and understanding! Duchess is a natural hunter so wouldn't do well in a home with small animals. She would thrive in a home with a fenced yard, and with a family that can be patient with her anxiety, and potentially offer her training to help deal with her anxiety around men and reactivity around other animals. Know someone who hunts? Duchess would be an amazing hunting buddy and would absolutely love going out with you! She's very food driven and absolutely loves all fruits and veggies.
