About Koda

Don't judge a dog by his kennel bark! Koda may greet you with some loud opinions and high-flying jumps when you walk by, but that's just his way of saying, 'Get me out of here!' Like many dogs, Koda finds the shelter environment both stressful boring, and he can come off a little intense in his kennel. But the moment you leash him up and head outside, you'll meet a whole different dog. Once he's out and about, quickly settles into a more relaxed, medium-to-low energy vibe, and he's great on a leash. He loves exploring the yard, sitting on command like a pro, and catching treats mid-air with impressive accuracy (though he'll also take them politely from your hand if you prefer). He's very treat-motivated and eager to please, making him a great candidate for learning even more tricks. He's affectionate, goofy (his cheeks often get hilariously stuck in his teeth!), and has a soft side that shines once he's out of the kennel chaos. Koda came to us with a microchip, but sadly, no one came to reclaim him. Now, he's ready for a fresh start with someone who sees past the bark and into the heart.
