About Elphie

Elphie is finally ready to find her very own family! Elphie came to us in December right before a really big cold front was coming in. She had been living at a church for a while but no one could catch her. It had already started getting cool and she was tired and ready to give up the street life for a warm bed. Unfortunately Elphie had pretty advanced heartworm disease and it was effecting her heart and lungs. Over the next couple months of medication and heartworm treatment she has significantly improved! The heartworms have probably done some damage due to the severity and that may affect her as she gets older but she is currently in good health and not on any medications beyond her heartworm prevention. Elphie is about 8 yrs old and weighs 9 lbs. She's a shy girl looking for a calm home to call her own. She tolerates other small dogs in the home but doesn't want to play with them or like them in her space. She seems to be on the lookout for ways to escape so she will require a secure yard with supervision or leash walks. She is the best lap dog and also enjoys running and lounging in the grass! Elphie's adoption fee is $195 local or $395 out of state with transport and includes current shots, microchip and spay.
