About Kingdom

German Shepherd / Redbone Coonhound
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Kingdom is a loyal , intelligent high - drive German Shepherd and Coonhound mix who was rescued from the streets of Texas and brought to New Hampshire through a rescue organization. At the time of his arrival, our veterinarian estimated he was around 6-7 months old. I knew immediately that Kingdom would need training, guidance, and strong leadership, especially given the uncertainty of his background and the intensity of his breed mix. Within the first few weeks, we began professional training to build our bond and help manage his dog reactivity. Since then, Kingdom has undergone extensive training. He's completed basic obedience, reactive dog programs, and several 'Board and Train' programs, including 7-day sessions with both Peace of Mind Canine Training and Fiddlesticks Training. He is crave-driven for structure, challenge, and engagement-truly a working dog at heart. While he enjoys hiking, lounging with a bone, or a cuddle on the couch, what Kingdom thrives on is having a job, direction, and purpose. He is extremely fast, alert, and eager to work. Kingdom is muzzle trained, crate trained, and fully accustomed to using a prong collar and E-collar (Mini Educator). He walks beautifully on-leash with no pulling. He responds reliably to daily commands including: sit, down, stay/wait, place, yes (for release), touch, search, and leave it. His equipment and training tools, including his E-collar and crate, will be provided to his new handler. ٤%A0 Behavioral Summary & Bite History Kingdom has made great progress in training and structure but needs a handler experienced with high-drive, protective dogs. Transparency is critical, and his behavior history is as follows: 'ۢ Kingdom has co-existed with other dogs during structured hikes and training when under the guidance of a confident handler. 'ۢ s%A0%8F He is not dog-social and should not be in a home with other pets or children. 'ۢ He is very obedient and responds well to structure, consistency, and clear leadership. 'ۢ %9D Kingdom has a bite history, including: o 4 dog bites - all occurred when unfamiliar dogs entered our yard. o 1 adult male bitten after entering our home unannounced. o 1 child bitten two years ago when they quickly approached Kingdom; this was an isolated incident with no puncture wounds. He had not been previously exposed to children, and I take full responsibility as the handler. 'ۢ He currently lives with our 5-month-old baby and does very well with her, but strict boundaries are maintained. 'ۢ s%A0%8F Due to his protective nature, he is not a match for a high-traffic family neighborhood with unpredictable stimuli. Kingdom sees his veterinarian regularly and is in perfect health. He sits calmly for vaccinations, nail trims, anal gland expressions, dental exams, and ear cleanings. He is a model patient, which reflects how cooperative he can be with trust and training. Rehoming Kingdom is an incredibly difficult decision. I love him beyond words, but I fear that in our current setting-full of unpredictable variables-another incident may occur. We live in a neighborhood with constant foot traffic, dog walkers, and playing children. Kingdom deserves and requires an environment designed for success and management. He would thrive with someone who has a military, working dog, or law enforcement background, or someone who simply has a deep understanding of working breeds. He needs a job, firm leadership, and a handler who understands his drive and purpose. In the right hands, Kingdom will be a loyal, driven, and fulfilling companion. If you are interested in meeting Kingdom or would like to see photos and videos of him in various settings, please reach out. I'm happy to discuss more and arrange a meet-and-greet.
