About Clayton

Clayton is a 1-2-year, male, 'Gold Irish Terrier' who weighs 15lbs. His shelter paperwork noted he was 4 years old, but his teeth look like bright, white puppy teeth. Clayton was rescued from a shelter where he was listed on the euthanasia list and only offered to rescue. Clayton arrived at the shelter with an open wound that appeared to be a slice down the right side near his back hip. The wound was stitched and required numerous stitches. The shelter communicated that someone had cut Clayton, but no official charges or details were provided. Our rescue stepped up and saved Clayton before he was put to sleep. Looking back to his original shelter post and everything he has been through, Clayton, like thousands of other dogs, almost missed an opportunity to be saved. This dog is extraordinary and to think he almost didn't make it out is heartbreaking. So many dogs never get the opportunity to demonstrate their incredible personalities because no one shows up to save them. Our rescue showed up and saved Clayton. Clayton's wound is healing well, and he took a trip to the groomer today. Clayton is so sweet that he was happy to share a travel crate to the groomer. Clayton does not shed. He gets along well with other dogs and loves everyone. Our rescue is thankful that we had the opportunity to save him. We will work hard to find Clayton the most amazing, forever home.
