Meet Cherry: 8 Years of Waiting for a Forever Love Cherry has spent her entire life outside, never knowing the warmth of a couch or the comfort of being truly home. For 8 long years, she waited. And now, at 8 years young, she's finally getting her second chance - and she's ready to give her whole heart. Cherry is a pit mix (DNA test pending) with a heart as big as her name is sweet. She's heartworm positive, but don't let that scare you - she's getting treatment, and all she needs now is a soft place to land and someone to love her through it. Despite the life she's led, Cherry is full of joy. She adores playtime in the backyard, romps at doggie daycare, and belly rubs on the couch. She's great with other dogs, does well in boarding, and is crate-trained and potty-trained. She's the kind of dog who drools when she sees a treat and leans in for cuddles like she's making up for lost time. One of her most endearing habits? She loves when you hold her paw - and she'll gently place it in your hand, just to be close to you. It's her way of saying, 'I'm here, and I trust you.' Cherry does have a prey drive - no cats, please - but she does wonderfully with kids and just wants to be someone's everything. She's ready to be the queen of your heart and home.
