Sammi had been in the rescue shelter system for 2 years. She was originally brought to a shelter by animal control due to abuse (used for breeding and as a bait dog). I rescued her from the last shelter 2 days before they were going to euthanize her. I took her in as a foster to rehab because this sweet animal deserves a chance to live her best life with humans that show her kindness rather than cruelty. She has been rehabilitated with the help of GIFMAF Dog Psychology Center in Tampa. She is potty trained, crate trained, e collar trained, basic obedience trained, muzzle trained and slip lead/leash trained. She is still working on dog reactivity to some dogs so she needs to be the only dog in the home. Sammi has free lifetime monthly group classes with GIFMAF behaviorists. This is transferable to the adopter. This will allow the adopter to be the calm confident leader that Sammi needs. She needs an active owner who can walk her 30 minutes twice daily. She loves to take walks and she will walk right beside you on a leash. I chose human compatibility unknown from the choices given because it is person dependent. Sammi is good with most adults as long as each person is introduced slowly. Once she trusts you, she will roll over for belly rubs or snuggle in your lap. I have not introduced her to any children as yet so that is an unknown. However, she has been to many parks for walks where there are playgrounds full of children and she was completely calm. Contact me if you believe you may be a good fit for Sammi or would like more information.
