Cassius is a professionally trained dog who listens to most commands. He is energetic, craves attention, and is very loving. He does have severe aggression towards other dogs until he gets to know them. So, why do I need to rehome him? My son had been talking about getting a dog for the last year. A post about an owner needing to rehome their dog kept popping up on my social media feed, so I reached out. I explained to the owner that I needed a dog that was good with other animals as well as young children. He assured me over multiple conversations that the dog would be fine. I met the dog, and although there were some red flags, I ignored them and decided to take the dog. Since I did not want to confuse the dog any more than he already would be, the next day I drove to West Virginia, where my son and his family live. Over the weekend, there were some issues where he snapped at the kids, ages 7 & 8. Since he was in a new environment, and the kids needed to be 'trained' on how to live with a dog, we chalked it up to that, and I left him there. He was there two months before my son and his wife called and told me they could not keep the dog. He was still fighting daily with their cats and again had snapped at both kids. I believe the dog has hope if he is in the right environment, i.e., no young kids, no cats, and a big yard to run in! I do not have his records, but he has been neutered, and his vaccinations expire this year.
