About Otis

LOCATION: Dallas, TX DOB: 04/19/2023 We transport nationwide Meet Otis, a 75-pound mastiff mix with a heart as big as his personality. Rescued just hours before his time was up, Otis came to us covered in thousands of ticks and dangerously underweight-but you'd never know it by the way he loves life now. With a few good meals, a clean bill of health, and a lot of TLC, Otis has blossomed into a charming, affectionate, and wonderfully quirky companion. He's a total people dog who lights up when you walk into the room. Whether it's greeting a stranger, going through a medical exam, or having a surprise visitor stop by with their dog, Otis takes it all in stride. He loves attention, snuggles, and kisses, and his very favorite thing in the world is curling up beside you on the couch to binge-watch movies. You'll often find him tilting his head at the screen like he's trying to follow the plot-his foster says he has a real flair for comedy. Otis is completely potty trained, crate trained, and well-mannered in the house. He walks nicely on a leash most of the time, but does need a little more practice when something exciting crosses his path. He has medium to slightly high energy and entertains himself with one of his signature quirks: collecting dog toys and rearranging them from one side of the room to the other like a one-dog moving crew. He gets along great with other dogs and has done well meeting new pups both in the shelter and in playgroups. However, Otis does resource guard food, toys, and human attention, so he'll need a home that can manage that with clear structure-no loose food or bones around the house, and ideally someone experienced with multi-dog dynamics. He takes redirection well and is eager to learn. We aren't sure how he does with cats, and he'll need a home without young children for now. Otis is looking for a foster or forever home that can offer consistency, affection, and a soft spot on the couch.
