LOCATION: Lawton, Oklahoma DOB: 02/07/2021 We adopt nationwide Meet Daphne, the most independent Velcro Dane you'll ever encounter-a graceful contradiction wrapped in a sleek, soulful Great Dane body. She loves to be close, quietly shadowing her people through the day, never clingy but always nearby. She's calm and composed with a gentle spirit, though she saves just enough energy for her daily three-minute zoomie sessions that are as joyful as they are fleeting. Daphne is a social butterfly with a flair for dramatic doggy introductions. She tends to enter like a whirlwind-imagine a ballerina in a tornado-but with a thoughtful, slow-paced intro, she quickly transitions from chaos to companionship. Once comfortable, she becomes deeply bonded to both her human and canine crew, and truly thrives when surrounded by a pack. She's got enough personality to fill a room and the kitchen counter, especially if there's bread involved. Daphne is a devoted carb enthusiast and has been known to masterfully outwit a twist-tied loaf in pursuit of her prize. When she's overwhelmed with emotion-like when you come home-she finds her comfort in a stuffed bear, cradling it in her mouth until she's ready to greet the world again. She's also a master of the 'infinity walk,' looping tightly beside you in perfect spirals, her body curled so completely she almost bumps into her own tail. Daphne is house trained, crate trained, and does best when crated while home alone. She does experience some separation anxiety, so a home with people around more often than not would help her feel safe and secure. Though she once tried her hand at fence jumping, she hasn't attempted it again in her foster home. She absolutely must have other dogs in her forever home. Daphne isn't herself without her canine companions, and her happiest moments are spent in the company of her furry friends. She's fantastic with children, but cats and livestock are a no-go. She's also allergic to chicken, but beyond that, she's a healthy, affectionate, and endlessly entertaining girl. Daphne is ready to find the family who will love her for all her quirks, celebrate her joyful spirit, and maybe keep the bread out of reach.
